The heartbeat of the Nigerian federation resonates in its states, and understanding this intricacy is the cornerstone of the pcl. State Performance Index (PSPI) Report. As a federal republic, the nation’s overall performance is intricately woven into state-level achievements and challenges.

Organisations within and beyond Nigeria have diligently strived to fathom and report on the socioeconomic performance of these sub-nationals, recognising that “the magic of the federation happens in the states.”

A Holistic Approach: Unlike conventional assessments, the PSPI Report adopts a holistic approach. Beyond standard indicators, we conducted a survey, echoing the voices of 6,096 citizens nationwide. This method acknowledges the vital link between data and the perceptions of those directly impacted.

Evolving Methodology: From its inception in 2018, the PSPI Report has evolved. The 2023 edition showcases refined methodologies, capturing substantial shifts in state rankings. This evolution reflects our commitment to providing a realistic parameter for state comparisons with high-level recommendations and individual state outlooks.
